Child & Adolescent Therapy

Relational, holistic, developmentally-grounded therapy for children and teens –
honoring the whole person, not just the symptoms.

We understand childhood and adolescence as profound stages of human development – times when a young person is discovering who they are, how they belong, and how to participate in the world while remaining connected to their deepest sense of self.

Our approach is relational, holistic, and developmentally grounded. We meet children and adolescents not simply as individuals with symptoms or problems to be fixed, but as whole human beings with innate capacities for creativity, connection, vitality, and growth. The therapeutic relationship itself becomes a place of safety, intimacy, curiosity, and discovery.

We recognize that young people develop through relationship. They need to feel genuinely seen and known, while also being given the freedom and support to discover their own capacities, values, and way of being. Rather than imposing a predetermined idea of who a child should become, we seek to understand and serve the unique developmental process of each young person.

Our work also makes room for the deeper dimensions of human experience – wonder, imagination, intuition, spirituality, meaning, and a felt sense of connection to something larger than oneself. These dimensions are welcomed when they are meaningful to the young person and their family, without imposing any particular religious or spiritual belief.

We believe that intimacy is deeply healing. Through an attuned therapeutic relationship, children and adolescents can begin to experience that they do not have to face difficult feelings, developmental challenges, or questions about themselves alone. They can gradually develop greater self-understanding, emotional resilience, relational capacity, and freedom to respond to life rather than simply react to it.

Therapy may include conversation, play, creativity, mindfulness, embodied awareness, and other forms of exploration that honor the developmental stage and unique needs of each young person. Parents and caregivers may also be supported in creating relationships and environments that foster both security and growing autonomy.

At the heart of our work is a simple premise: a young person is more than their difficulties. Beneath the behaviors, defenses, and struggles is a living person with an inherent capacity for connection, growth, and joy.

Our role is not to make a child into someone else, but to help create the conditions in which they can more fully discover and become themselves.
